What are three skills that are indispensable in your field?
1) Critical thinking: It is one of the most important attributes one needs to build in this profession. It helps in bringing a rational perspective and helps HR professionals to deal with difficult situations at work. Be it is conflict resolution or addressing an issue with the employees, critical thinking helps reconstruct or put forward views and ideas that best suit the work environment.
2) Agility: It is important as well. As change is the only constant it is important to tailor yourself to these changes quickly and operate accordingly.
3) Adaptability and Reliability Skills: The world of business is changing every day. You cannot get too comfortable and instead need to adapt yourself to changing times. Learn something new every day. Have a good understanding of the business and how the stakeholders of the business work, (especially in a business partnering profile) and adapt to the same. Learn new ways of doing old things. Get creative with your work. Upgrade yourself to the upcoming technologies. Don't stop learning. It is also important to display reliability. Always think of your sentences and conversations with stakeholders as a promise. Never over-commit or under commit on the deliverables. Always deliver the expected work within the timelines. This helps in building trust and thereby bagging bigger projects for continuous growth and learning.
