This article is about the interview experience of Ishika Dangyach, an Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media alumna, who was selected to work with one of India's top media houses and television channel as a part of campus recruitment. Recruitment process
The recruitment process had two rounds. The first round was a test and it was followed by the personal interview round.
Round 1
It was a test that contained questions pertaining to the job role, current affairs, news, etc.
Round 2
The second round was a personal interview which lasted for over 20 minutes. The candidate was asked a variety of questions and most of them were situation-based questions. She was being tested upon current affairs, general knowledge, business and international news, and journalism ethics.

A recruiter is looking for a candidate who:

Knows about the kind of job they are applying for
Is passionate about the profession
Preparation
The candidate's preparation involved reading newspapers daily and staying well versed with recent happenings.
She gave several mock interviews with her batchmates and friends and thus, didn’t feel nervous while giving the interview.
For the test, she attempted 2-3 sample tests which previous year students attempted.
Tips to Crack the interview
Be passionate about the job.
Be confident.
Read, read, and read.
Read newspapers daily. It will improve your language skills and every organization is looking for people who have a good command over language.
